The Committee elected Mr D Gamede (ANC) as the acting chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Defence and Military Veterans until the end of the term.
Meeting report
The Committee Secretary announced that the former committee chairperson had resigned from Parliament. There was therefore a vacancy and the Committee had to elect an acting chairperson from among the remaining members.
The Committee unanimously elected Mr D Gamede as acting chairperson.
The Committee resolved that the acting chairperson would continue in his role until the end of the term.
The Committee further noted that the quorum has been reduced to five members because the chairperson was in an acting capacity
The meeting was adjourned.
