Meeting report

Budgetary Review and Recommendation Report
The Chairperson invited Members to comment or make corrections to the Report.

Mr K Mubu (DA) voiced concern that only a small number of comments had been submitted from Members (on the Report). Only three out of a possible 15 Members had made contributions.

The Chairperson said that the number of apologies also affected the number of contributions. Thereafter, she went through the recommendations and the observations.

Mr S Ngonyama (COPE) felt that the Performance per Programme was supposed to be grouped with financial statements while the achievements should be grouped with the challenges.

Ms Lineo Mosala, Content Advisor for Committee, explained that the Report had been drafted according to a prescribed template. She understood Mr Ngonyama’s concern but, did not want to deviate from that template.

The Budgetary Review and Recommendation Report 2010 was adopted with minor amendments

Limpopo Oversight Visit Report
The Chairperson asked Members if the Limpopo Oversight visit Report should be debated by the House.

The Committee agreed that this was not necessary and asked the Committee Secretary, Ms Bulelwa Bottoman, to delete the word “consider” in that report.

Other Matters
The Chairperson informed Members that the Committee would be hosting a Sudanese delegation on 5 November 2010, and urged Members to avail themselves for the meeting.

Mr Ngonyama tendered his apology for the November 5 2010 meeting with the Sudanese delegation due to pre-arranged engagement.

The meeting was adjourned.
