Meeting report

The Chairperson outlined the agenda of the meeting which was to consider and adopt the draft Committee Report on the Second Adjustments Appropriation (2022/23 Financial Year) Bill.

Committee Members were taken through the draft report.

Mr E Njadu (ANC, Western Cape) indicated that since the report was the product of several thorough engagements with stakeholders, he thus moved for the adoption of the draft report.

Mr Y Carrim (ANC, KZN) seconded the adoption of the draft report.

Mr D Ryder (DA, Gauteng) noted that it was a fairly brief report and thanked the Committee’s team for putting together a good report. However, he noted the content of the report and what had been discussed, and he described that “the report had jumped to a strange conclusion”. Hence, the Democratic Alliance rejected the report.

Mr F Du Toit (FF+, North West) indicated that the FF Plus did not support the report.

Mr M Moletsane (EFF, Free State) stated that the EFF did not support the report.

All objections were recorded. The Second Adjustments Appropriation (2022/23 Financial Year) Bill was adopted.

The Chairperson informed the Committee that the report would be presented on Tuesday next week in the House.

The Chairperson adjourned the meeting.
