The Chairperson opened the meeting and asked that Members observe a moment of silence after it lost one of its own MPs in the NCOP, Ms P Mmola (ANC, Mpumalanga), due to Corona Virus.

Report of the Select Committee on Education and Technology, Sport, Arts and Culture on the Impact of COVID-19 on the Strategic Plan and Annual Performance Plan of the Department of Basic Education and its Entities in Respect of Budget Vote 16: Basic Education

The Chairperson invited comments on the Report.

Members did not make any comments.

Ms N Ndongeni (ANC, Eastern Cape) moved for the adoption of the Report and was seconded by Ms A Maleka (ANC, Mpumalanga).

The Chairperson invited comments on the Report.

Members did not make any comments.

Ms Ndongeni moved for the adoption of the Report and was seconded by Ms Maleka.

The Chairperson invited comments on all outstanding minutes dating back to May 2020.

The minutes were adopted.

The Chairperson thanked Members for attending the meeting. It was important that the Committee maintain its role of oversight despite the Coronavirus pandemic.
