Meeting report

The Chairperson of the Select Committee welcomed everyone to the meeting. She asked the Committee Members to adopt the agenda of the day which was to consider and adopt the Free State Disaster Visit Report and consider and adopt the minutes.

The Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and Environmental Affairs was supposed to brief the Select Committee today. Unfortunately, the senior officials, Minister and the Deputy Minister are attending COP17 in Egypt.

The Chairperson said the department wanted to send the officials, but she refused to be briefed by junior officials.

Apologies were received from Ms C Labuschagne (DA, Western Cape) and Mr C Smit (DA, Limpopo).

Report of the Select Committee on Land Reform, Environment, Mineral Resources and Energy on the oversight visit to the Free State

The report was considered and adopted.

Minutes of previous Committee meetings were also considered and adopted.

The Chairperson thanked everyone for availing themselves to attend the meeting.

The meeting was adjourned.
