The Committee considered and adopted its Legacy Report

Members were informed that the Committee had been invited to the Scholarship Awards that were sponsored by the Office of the Auditor-General of South Africa.

Meeting report

The Chairperson welcomed everyone. She indicated that there were only 3 items on the agenda, which are as follows:

- Consideration and Adoption of Draft Minutes 28 November 2018 and 26 February 2019

-Consideration and Adoption of the SCOAG Fifth Legacy Report

-Announcements

Minutes of 28 November 2018

The Chairperson tabled the document for consideration and the Committee went through it page by page.

Mr N Singh (IFP) moved for the adoption of the minutes.

Mr M Shackleton (DA) corrected the name “Democratic Party” to “Democratic Alliance” on page 1 of the minutes.

Ms R Adams (ANC) seconded the move.

The Committee adopted the minutes with amendments.

Minutes of 26 February 2019

The Chairperson tabled the document for consideration and the Committee went through it page by page.

Mr Singh moved for the adoption of the minutes.

The Committee noted and also corrected the name “Democratic Party” to “Democratic Alliance” on page 1 of the minutes.

Ms Adams seconded the move.

The Committee adopted the minutes with amendments.

SCOAG Fifth Legacy Report

The Chairperson tabled the document for consideration and the Committee went through it page by page.

Mr Singh suggested that the report include the new members that joined the Committee and those that were discharged and the exact dates should be reflected.

The Chairperson said they should change the template to give the report some sense and that has been done.

Mr Singh moved for the adoption of the report.

Mr Shackleton seconded the move.

The Committee adopted the report with amendments.

The Chairperson thanked Members and the support staff for their contribution in the last 5 years of the Committee.

Announcements

Ms Cindy Balie, Committee Secretary said that the Committee has been invited to the Scholarship Awards that are sponsored by the Office of the Auditor-General. They are still waiting for a feedback from the AG’s office in terms of preparations and other logistics. As soon as they receive that feedback, she will inform Members about the details and all arrangements will be made for Members to attend the Scholarship Awards.

The Chairperson said Members will be informed by SMS as the House Chairperson and the Chief Whip sign off for the trip.

Mr V Smith (ANC) thanked the Committee Secretary and the support staff for their hard work.

Mr Shackleton also thanked the support staff for their contribution to the work of the Committee.

The Chairperson thanked Members and support staff for attending.

The meeting was adjourned.
