About Denise Robinson

Ms Robinson grew up in Queenstown but has lived in Cape Town for many years. She completed her post-secondary education at Rhodes University and attained a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in English and History and in addition completed a University Education Diploma. Prior to joining South African politics, Ms Robinson worked as a teacher and later started a career as a language adviser and translator. On her entry into politics in 1998, she became a Proportional Representative councilor for the Democratic Party and was elected as ward councilor for the City of Cape Town in 2000 as a representative for the DA. Ms Robinson was appointed as the DA's Shadow Minister of Women, Youth, Children and People with Disabilities in 2009. Source: DA (http://www.da.org.za).
