Edwin Macrae Bath was born in Durban and raised in the rural farming community of Underberg in the Southern Drakensberg (KZN). He attended St Charles College before earning a BSc (Hons) in the Built Environment from the University of Cape Town. Edwin gained experience in project and asset management in the Department of Public Works with the KZN Provincial Government and later as a Deputy Director in the Western Cape Government. He also worked for the City of Cape Town's economic growth directorate. He holds a Master's in Public Governance from The Nelson Mandela School of Public Governance (UCT). Elected as a Member of Parliament in 2024, Edwin is committed to effective government, ethical leadership, good governance, and the values of the Democratic Alliance (DA).
