Dr Kloppers-Lourens joined the DA in 2005 and was elected to Parliament in 2009. She was born in and raised in Vanderbijlpark in Gauteng. After completing her secondary education she continued her studies at the University of Pretoria where she completed a BA and Honors degree in History. In addition to this, she completed a Master’s and Doctorate degree in Education at RAU, a LLB at UNISA and the AIPSA Diploma for Insolvency Practitioners at the University of Pretoria. She was previously employed as a chief researcher and developer to the Bureau for Curriculum Development and Evaluation, Public Relations Officer for Perskor Publishers and later Academic Publisher for Lex Patria Publishers.
