Mr Du Toit was born in Worcester. After completing matric in 1975 he went on the further his studies at the University of Stellenbosch where he obtained a BA degree in Political Science, Sociology, Geography and Economics and later obtained an Honours degree in Business Administration from the same university. Before his entry in to politics, Mr Du Toit worked in a range of sectors including agriculture, poultry processing clothing manufacturing amongst others. He joined the DP in 2000 and was elected as a councillor for the DA in 2000. Since then Mr Du Toit was elected as the DA Caucus leader in the Drakenstein Municipality in 2007 and got elected to Parliament in 2009 where he executed duties on the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA). Certainly. What this country needs is leadership unblemished by any rumours, skeletons in the closet or present and past scandals, supported by individuals of the same calibre and a change of organisational culture.
