Ronald Lamola is the current Minister of Justice. He has Masters of Law in corporate law and extractive law – both qualifications obtained at the University of Pretoria.
Early in his career Lamola was a rising star in the African National Congress (ANC) Youth League and was deputy president to then youth league president, Julius Malema. However, in late 2011, he along others was sanctioned by the ANC for bringing the party into disrepute. He was later suspended by the ANC Youth League and started his own private law firm
In 2017, From the ANC’s Nasrec conference in 2017, he was the youngest NEC member elected and he was also elected into the national working committee structure.
