The MINISTER OF WOMEN, CHILDREN AND PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES: Hon Speaker, the Child Protection Register, as per the Children's Act, Act 38 of 2005, includes parts A and B. Part A of the register includes the function of capturing information about children who enter into the school protection system as a result of reported abuse or neglect, and the progress made on the management of those special cases. Part B is intended to be a record of persons who are unsuitable to work with children. If the court makes a finding that a person is unsuitable to work within an environment where there are children, the person's name must be placed on the register.
