Mr Thamaga, Head of Department, gave a detailed breakdown of the pass percentages for the various districts making up the Province, indicating that overall, the districts had improved their percentage pass rate and were above the national norm. This showed an indication that the provincial strategies, tactics and interventions had worked well. The analysis had indicated that changes to the Curriculum had a negative effect on pass rates - when the Curriculum stabilised, there was an immediate improvement in results.
