Dear Portfolio Committee on Rural Development and Land Reform,
I have on several occasions seek assistance through previous Ministers Director General as well as a Provincial Office but I have been driven from pillar to post. In 1977 my grandfather together with other farm-workers driven out of the farm they were staying at. The farm used to belong to Mr. CC Lloyd and after his death the farm was sold to Mr. Sam Knott who immediately sent them packing with their cattle. They seek refuge at the nearby village and were informed that before they can be accepted they need to sell their cattle. days and nights they waited selling their cattle and were forced to loose out. After all cattle were sold they then were accepted. All the Provincial Office in East London instead of coming to us had an agreement with a lady called Mamthembu Mhlanga who copleted the forms of claimant first at R500 per person claiming and after that it was increased to R100 per person and now it is R100 plus> She gained a lot because she was completing forms even for people who left the farm of their own and also if you as a family were more than 50 each member must pay. I tried to set an appointment with Zukile Pityi and he never responded until I copy his email to President and only then he informed me he was no longer a head. Last few weeks I was called by another lady from that office promising to visit and latter cancelled that visit and I never heard from her. The Government bring things closer to people and the people who are supposed to be doing their job refuse to do it instead opt to enrich other family members of their own.
