Dear Portfolio Committee on Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development,

Receive my warmest greetings

I'm the beneficiary of the Mahlalela Community Trust situated in Pongola, northern KwaZulu-Natal. I write to you to request that you do a follow up on the progress or lack thereof to our claim which has regrettably dragged too long than necessary.

Meanwhile, we have challenged the Chief Land Claims Commissioner on problems that we have been caused by her officials in KZN Regional Office regarding failure to procure land for our people and not allocating us training and recapitalization.

I also request that you assist us with an investigation on the conduct of Mr. Mthokozisi Sithole (Claims Coordinator), Adv. Bheki Mbili (Regional Land Claims Commissioner) and, Mr. Khonzindaba Thabede (Chairperson for Mahlalela Community Trust).

These three individuals may have acted improper on some of the issues pursuant to the land claim, including, but not limited to:
a) transferring other (claimed) land portions to another community trust illegally,
b) making (suspected) fraudulent lease agreements with a private law firm Weich and Kriel Inc.,
c) failure to transfer land portions currently under government ownership and control, some of it has been invaded by local chiefs and izinduna,
d) conducting a comprehensive research of the whole claim whereas it was gazetted back in 2007.

We have previously wrote to the Office of The Presidency in order to seek more intervention on these matters, to little or no help.

I would be glad if my concerns are considered and attended to with a matter of urgency.

Thanking you in advance.
