Dear Portfolio Committee on Defence and Military Veterans,

I am Zamikhaya Sidwell Mtimkhulu 45 years old, born in East London I was internally trained by MK commanders in 1990 and ordained a military certificate as Umkhonto Wesizwe bonafide member.

1998 I partake on the intake which took place in Doorinkop in Johannesburg Army Base, unfortunately my names were not appearing on CPR from my province. I was ordered to go to Defence Head Quarters (DHQ) for verification process, I went to (DHQ) and was provided the verification form to fill in and provide three signatures from MK seniour commanders.

I took the forms with me and went to Luthuli House for signatures from my commanders, three MK seniour commanders signed for me including Mavuso Msimang. I took the form back to DHQ IN MK personnel office Gen Pule and Vera Ramtlo accepted the from as it was complied.

I was told to come back after two weeks to check the outcome because the defence committee and Parliament has to check the my verification, I came back after two to (DHQ) to check the outcome, on my arrival Gen Pule showed me the list of people who were approved I look on the list and discovered that my name with my Identity number was on the list, I confirm to him with my original ID document.

Gen Pule ordered me to came back after 14 days and bring my ID document and be ready to go for a military training within the SANDF.

I left (DHQ) with full of joy in my heart, on my way back to (DHQ) after 14 days I went to MK personnel office as usual I met with Gen Pule he ordered me to go to another office and met with Thabo Spampoel and tell him that I the one of the person whose name is on the list for intake, I went to the office and met with Thabo which I know him very well as we are from same area at home. Thabo told me that all the names that were approved are rejected by Parliament, I asked him what was the reason for rejection he answered me by saying, not to ask him that question and he was not looking at my face nor eyes and his face was very angry after asking him the reason for reject.

I left the office and went back to JHB as I was sleeping in the street I decided to go back home in East London because life was not nice in Joburg being unemployed and has place to sleep.

Two weeks after arrival at home I went to my cde's and brief them about my situation. when I mention the name of Thabo Spampoel I was told to shut up my mounth and listen what Thabo Spampoel did by recruiting people BY HIMSELF into SADF,

And was advised not to take any further steps as he was having a higher rank in the Army.

So I was not integrated due to that situation which occurs during the 1998 integration process.

I submitted my names to Department of Military Veterans three years back until today never get any response, my last check this year I was told to submit my names again because their system shows my names and ID number only, In way I don't have a force number from SADF, I provided my Military Certificate from Umkhonto Wesizwe but until this day no response from the Department of Military Veterans,

I would like to plea the committee to consider my case as now am remaining alone at home my father past away and my mother is no longer working as a domestic worker now, she is in pension. I don't have a house for myself at my age.

The house for my mother has only two sleeping rooms and has about six grand children, its difficult for me to go home and stay with them.

Please help me.
