ONLINE UIF - NO SLA COMMITTMENT NOR INDICATION OF PAYMENT (35 DAYS IS THE SLA ONLINE) - I am waiting since 25th of November 2020

Dear Portfolio Committee on Employment and Labour,

As a law-abiding citizen and respect for being part of the solution, not the problem. ensuring my tax status at all levels is 100% up to date

It is apparent that there is clearly a system and/or process issue. This week I add people issue (capturers or rather an insufficient amount on the UI19) as per the call centre update. The UI19 is a pack of documents which is uploaded and emailed to the relevant department/s.

Since the SLA date was not met, I call the UIF claims call centre weekly (compliments to this team - though really the status remains unchanged).

Automation and online implies less manual activity and capturing, in many instances when implemented protect against theft and corruption and improve efficiencies and accuracy. I perform all my SARS activities for many years online - and is instantaneous.

I completed the process online on the 25th of November 2020.

There is no update on the online site - the only sms I received on submission was it would take 35 days when I completed the process,

I write this to create awareness and bring this to your attention.

Online reporting should make it glaringly obvious to those responsible and accountable for fulfilling the tasks in getting people paid timeously. I therefore trust that those in management are aware that their staff KPI's are not being met, hence corrective performance management is required.

No point in having a 35 day SLA if it does not get met.

In stating this, I am aware (know for a fact) that if you know someone in UIF, you move up on the payment ladder. We can debate corruption vs. favouritism in being connected.

I am not prepared to do this as systemically I should have been paid already.
