Dear Portfolio Committee on Women, Youth and People with Disabilities,

I am a female victim of GBV . I have a case coming up on 10 March . It’s been postponed since 22 December . Wynberg court case 122/12/2020

The abuser Razark Rahman was let out of jail without paying any bail . I have had to pay for my medical report , 450 rand . Further medical treatments of 900 rand . Photocopies in colour of brushing for over 1500 rand . My eye is damaged and the court will not accept a letter from my general practitioner . They want a specialists report which will cost me 800-1000 rand . This case cost me loss of income of 13500 this week as I have to attend court when I had a business trip . I am losing close to 17000 rand and the perpetrator is out there , not affected in any way . How can I recover my costs from him ? I can’t afford the specialist ? Why can’t they accept my GPS report ? Each doctors visit costs me 450 excluding the medication prescribed ? Why is the cost on the victim ? Please advise and assist .

Also , the people hiding and assisting the abuser to evade arrest . The people who see the abuse and violence - he has beaten several women in his mothers house and she does nothing . Should these people enabling this abuse not be put on trial too ? They are part of the problem !

Regards
