Dear Portfolio Committee on Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development,

My name is Ngidi Nqoba Innocent (9608285711082), I am currently enrolled under a programmer of Master of Social Sciences (Public Policy) at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. I am originally from KwaZulu-Natal, South Coast of Durban (Imfume Mission). I hold two qualifications, Bachelor of Social Sciences with specialization in Community Development and Political Sciences, and Honors Degree in Social Sciences (Public Policy) CUM LAUDE from UKZN. I am currently working at Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA, Centurion) under the Policy, Research, and Analysis (Cybersecurity) division since the start of April.

Personally, my interest lies in human development and would like to work on projects that mitigate issues that impede people's abilities to be and do desirable things in life. A firm believer that people should be able to aspire and inspire to being better or contributing members of society, that is what gives us purpose. Interested in being part of a team that understands that while economic viability of a business or organization is important but improving the quality of life of a community ensures sustainability of that healthy economy.

I am writing to the committee to express my request for your assistance and intervention in my community (Imfume Mission). Imfume Mission is a rural community with no hope for development or economic viability. This view is particularly shared by young people of my community as they feel that they have suffered enough social and economic exclusion sine they were born. Although my community is relatively small in size; community development initiatives and interventions are still limited. in fact, over 80 per cent of the youth populace of Imfume are unemployed and come from severely poor families.

Despite all these aforementioned social and economic issues; my community posses a few useful resource that can be utilized for the benefit of the community. Land and human resources are amongst the key resources we posses. to fully appreciate the benefits of such resources, we require multiple intervention from both state and none-state actors. today, I came across this website and saw it as an answer to my prayers and that of my fellow community.

10 years ago, we received some assistance by one of our local citizen by creating an agricultural-based community project that sought to bring out social integration and do away with poverty and unemployment within the community. Although this effort was openly accepted by all members of the community; there was no proper support given to the project and this led to its demise.

In light of the above brief description of my concern; I hereby request that the Committee on Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development responds to me at their convenience with any feedback; although a positive one would be much apricated.
