Dear Portfolio Committee on Public Service and Administration, Performance Monitoring & Evaluation,
I called and reported a burst waterpipe in Strand on 25 Sep at 7:30 and got the sms to confirm it has been ‘assigned’ with ref number 9113443217 I was told that repairs will commence “within an hour’
3 hours later! I called again to ask why NO-ONE has attended to it….
It is now 4 hours that fresh water has been running down a drain and still no-one around to repair!! So am I to assume that 1). We dont have to work responsibly with water and 2) my taxes are paid for ‘NO’ service???? If calls ARE recorded as stated this issue can be confirmed! If (and that is a BIG IF) there are ANY persons in the Western Cape government that ACTUALLY have a sense of responsibility to the taxpayers (the people who pay their salaries) this issue might be followed up and the lack of service might be corrected🤞 If I sound harsh it is due to a buildup of frustration at the poor/no service from ALL government/municipal departments/entities……. The pathetic attitudes of ‘civil servants’ who clearly have NO idea what the word ‘civil SERVANT’ means and the fact that they are NOT held responsible!!!
