Dear Portfolio Committee on Justice and Correctional Services,

I support the decriminalisation of sex work and thus the repealing of the sections of the Sexual Offences Act, 1957 (Act No. 23 of 1957) as well as section 11 of the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Related Matters) Amendment Act, 2007 (Act No. 32 of 2007) which criminalise this.

I think it is long overdue that we respect and protect those who engage in consensual sex work and that the stigma, discrimination and violence they are often subjected to no longer be state-sponsored!
