Dear Portfolio Committee on Justice and Correctional Services,

I am writing to support the decriminalisation of sex work. I believe in harm reduction for sex workers - we need to make it easier and safer for sex workers to do their work. Criminalisation has led to exploitation of this often vulnerable group of people.

I also hope that the "Nordic Model" wherein clients are criminalised rather than sex workers is not implemented here. I would like to see a society wherein there is no shame about sexuality and receiving sexual services.

With resources diverted from policing sex work, there will be more opportunity and funding for social projects, like rehabilitation for sex workers.

I hope that you will support decriminalisation.
