Dear Portfolio Committee on Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development, I wish to table my comment to stand against the legalization of prostitution in South Africa based on observation and human rights point of view. I live in Rustenburg where prostitution is growing exponentially in the streets in town.

Every street where prostitutes live and operate, encounters deterioration of property value as prostitution is associated with a number of negative humanitarian factors such as Littering, Street Vendors, Drug Dealings, Uncontrolled Street dwellers and influx of uncontrolled movements of people. Klopper Street is one example.

Drug trafficking will be the second illegal aspect that comes with the legalization of this trade of Sex Work. Human Trafficking and multiple crime risks will be following the decision.

In all fairness, every taxpayer needs to associate their occupation with human dignity. I don't think being a sex worker draws enough human dignity in the society.

In my lifetime i once had an opportunity to study in Johannesburg. The truth about the area called Hillbrow is that the place is filthy, overcrowded, dangerous and low class. I personally was robbed in 1999 walking towards Hillbrow Theare as I am an artist. We do not want the entire country to have the same stigma and character of Hillbrow, do we?

In conclusion, I don't agree with the legalization of Sex Work in South Africa
