Dear Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA),

I would like Scopa to enquire for us as citizens and recover public funds spend on road R573 between Marble hall and Siyabuswa in Limpopo province.
The construction of road R573 started in 2009 /2010 financial year or even before then if I am not mistaken.
I strongly believed that people of limpopo were robbed road by SANRAL that could open ways for economic opportunities and also to travel safely to their destination. The contractor appointed to construct that road was KPMM and have abandon the road incomplete in the year 2012. The road posses high life risk to commuters and many people have already lost their lives due to accidents happening in that road. The road connect Mpumalanga and limpopo and has high potential in creating economic opportunities, the part that was abandoned is the portion under limpopo province.
I believe Sanral would have better answers on why that road was abandoned and left incomplete while millions were already spend on it.

Kind regards
T Manala
