Hon Deputy Speaker, the Pan South African Language Board derives its mandate from section 6(5) of the Constitution to promote and create conducive conditions for the development of all languages including the Khoi, Nama and sign languages. Those whop drafted the Constitution had the wisdom to appreciate the history of inequality in our country. Imperialism not only plundered our mineral resources and exploited black people for cheap labour; killed our women and children, it also went as far as in ensuring that our heritage, our culture and languages are disabled. That is why the only languages that enjoy continuous promotion and development are languages of the descendants of imperialist murderers.
