Member of the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature
Born and educated in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. Studied a B.Sc degree at Stellenbosch University, then an HED through UNISA. Started teaching Biology and Maths at Qhayiya Combined school in 1993. Became the Principal of Shaw Park Primary School in 1999 and eventually resigned from teaching in 2011.
I had already started my journey with the DA as a branch chair and simply got more and more excited and involved in the process. I taught Maths (specifically Geometry) to Grade 10 in a Catch-Up programme through the Rhodes University Education Dept Maths Chair, under Prof Marc Schafer, for four years.
This resulted in a Masters degree in Mathematics Education. Became a PR councillor in Ndlambe municipality in 2014.
I became a PR councillor in Ndlambe municipality in 2014. Happily married to Paul for 24 years and have two teenage boys who attend Graeme College in Grahamstown.
