Mr Jeffery is currently serving as a Deputy Minister of Justice. He first became a Member of Parliament in 1999. Prior to his appointment, he had been a member of the ANC National Executive Committee (NEC), Legislative and Governance subcommittee and the ANC Political Committee in Parliament. He holds an LLB degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Law from the University of Natal (UN). He served as Parliamentary Counsellor to the Deputy President from 1999-2005.
