Mr Mokgobi is currently Chairperson of the ANC Mopani Region and an ANC PEC member. He was the Executive Mayor of the Mopani District Municipality from 2002 to 2009 and Chairperson of the South African Local Government Association (SALGA), Limpopo from 2006 to 2009.
