Ms Pieters was sworn in as the MEC for Human Settlements in May 2019 till March 2021. She is a newcomer to the legislature and is the former chief whip in the Speaker of Sarah Baartman Municipality. Currently she is serving as the MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development.
