Whether a police station will be opened in Wonderkop, North West, in light of the high crime rate in Marikana; if not, why not; if so, (a) by what date will the police station open and (b) what are the details of the time frames that have been put in place in this regard?

What are the reasons that the Wesselsbron Police Station remain closed, as it was last open and functioning in 2020, resulting in residents having to walk 7,5 km to the next police station for assistance?

With reference to the tavern shootings which have taken place in different parts of the Republic since 2022, what total number of the (a) case have been restored, (b) suspects have been apprehended as at the latest date for which information is available and (c) investigation led to successful prosecution?

(1) What number of persons who are repeat offenders of rhino poaching have been convicted of further known rhino poaching and/or related charges as at the latest specified date for which information is available; (2) what (a) total number of the specified repeat offenders (i) are (aa) on bail awaiting trial and/or (bb) in custody awaiting trail, (ii) have absconded while on bail and (iii) were granted amnesty and released while in custody awaiting trial or released on parole or some other amnesty while serving prison sentences?

(1) (a) What National Training Standards apply to (i) crime prevention wardens (CPWs), (ii) law enforcement officers (LEOs) and (iii) leamer law enforcement officers (LLEQs), (b) what are the legislative provisions they rely on to provide for the specified training, (c) on what date was it gazetted and (d) will he furnish Mr B N Herron with a copy thereof; (2) what is the status of categories of security services not provided for in terms of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996, and/or any national legislation, performing peace officer functions armed with firearms; (3) if the CPWs, LEOs and LLEOs are not lawfully established and/or operating in reliance of national legislation, what steps does he intend to take in each case?

(1) With reference to sections 199(1) and 199(3) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996, which provides that the security services of the Republic consists of a single police service, unless a security service is established in terms of national legislation, in terms of which the SA Police Service Act, Act 68 of 1995, provides for the establishment of municipal police services as a peace officer (details furnished), on which legislative provisions do Gauteng crime prevention wardens (CPWs) rely to operate as a security service; (2) on which legislative provisions do (a) municipal law enforcement officers (LEOs), who are not members of a municipal police service, rely to conduct crime prevention activities and (b) they rely for defining and/or establishing (i) CPWs and (ii) LEQs?

Whether, with regard to the release of the fourth quarter crime statistics for the 2022-23 financial year, and given the dramatic increases in various violent crimes, not only from the previous quarter, but year-on-year as well, any consequence management and/or disciplinary investigations are taking place against any senior SA Police Service (a) national leadership and (6) provincial leadership, given the continuous unabated increase in crime; if not, what is the position in this regard; if so, what are the relevant details?

(1) What total number of (a) gang-related crimes has been reported to the SA Police Service (SAPS) in the City of Johannesburg and (6b) gang-related incidents of (i) murder, (ii) assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm, {iii) common assault, (iv) armed robbery and (v) possession of illegal firearm and/or ammunition has been reported to SAPS in the City of Johannesburg in the period 30 June 2022 to 30 June 2023; (2) what total number of (a) suspects have been arrested for any two of the above crimes, (b) accused have been convicted by a court of law in relation to any three of the crimes and (c) itegal firearms have been recovered by SAPS in the City of Johannesburg in the specified period?

What (a) total number of (i) magistrates, (ii) judges and (iii) other court officials that work and reside in KwaZulu-Natal are currently under official police protection and (b) is the total cost of the protection to the taxpayer?

(1) What steps of intervention has the SA Police Service taken to stop extortion gangs targeting informal businesses and township homes across the Western Cape; (2) whether he has found that while the syndicates are not being investigated and arrested by the police they will become emboldened to expand to other parts of the Republic the longer they are allowed to operate?
