Whether he has employed a ministerial special advisor; if so, (a) what are the duties of the advisor, (b) at which post level was the appointment made, (c) what is the salary level of the advisor, (d) what is the duration of the employment contract entered into with the advisor and (e) why was it necessary to appoint this advisor?
For each incentive that is currently provided by the Enterprise Organisation, what is the (a) date the incentive was introduced, (b) breakdown of the amount spent on the incentive since its inception, (c) breakdown of the number of projects supported since its inception, (d) the total resulting investments and (e) breakdown of the total number of (i) direct and (ii) indirect jobs created?
(1) With reference to his reply to question 1519 on 20 June 2011, why is the SA Table Tennis Board regularly considered for financial support; (2) whether the SA Table Tennis Board adhered to all the prerequisites to be considered for financial support from the National Lotteries Board in the (a) 2006-07, (b) 2007-08, (c) 2008-09, (d) 2009-10 and (e) 2010-11 financial years, namely (i) to provide (aa) audited financial statements for two years, (bb) the constitution of the board, (cc) a business plan and (dd) costed budget and (ii) that the application should be endorsed by a provincial or national body; if not, why did the SA Table Tennis Board qualify for financial support in each case?
(1) What is the breakdown of all grants paid out by the National Lotteries Board to the categories (a) Reconstruction and Development Programme, (b) Charities, (c) Sport and Recreation, (d) Arts, Culture and National Heritage and (e) Miscellaneous Purposes during the (i) 2008-09, (ii) 2009-10 and (iii) 2010-11 financial years; (2) whether he provided direction on which grants should be awarded under the category Miscellaneous Purposes in terms of section 31(5) of the Lotteries Act, Act 57 of 1997, in the (i) 2008-09, (ii) 2009-10 and (iii) 2010-11 financial years; if so, what are the relevant details regarding the directions given by him in each case?
(1) With reference to the publication Mobilisation Against Foreign Traders in South Africa issued by the African Centre for Migration and Society in June 2011, what action will his department take (a) to ensure that the rights of asylum seekers and refugees to work and conduct trade is protected, (b) against a certain forum’s (name furnished) mobilisation to force the eviction of foreign traders and (c) to prevent the outbreak of such further xenophobic attacks; (2) whether he (a) has been or (b) intends cooperating with other relevant Ministers or departments to ensure that these rights of asylum seekers and refugees are protected; if not, why not; if so, (i) with which Ministers and departments and (ii) what are the relevant details of each such cooperation agreement?
(1) Whether (a) the National Lotteries Board (NLB) and (b) any other entity reporting to him has provided funding to a trade union/organisation in the (i) 2006-07, (ii) 2007-08, (iii) 2008-09, (iv) 2009-10 and (v) 2010-11 financial years; if so, in each case, (aa) which entity provided the funding, (bb) to which trade union/organisation was funding provided, (cc) how much money was given and (dd) what was the intended purpose of the funds; (2) whether his department conducted investigations to determine whether the funds were applied as intended; if not, why not; if so, how were these funds spent in each case; (3) how does his department ensure that funds granted are applied as intended?
