a) A total of 9.2 million accounts has outstanding balances valued at R44.2 billion. These balances comprise of unpaid invoices and penalties levied for non-payment over several years. At least 5.6 million accounts have been handed over for external debt collection.

1. Hosting clients is a standard practice in any commercial environment. The SABC has not had a sales conference in years. The total cost was R1 448 085. The original booking was made on 22-24 August 2022, but the event was postponed to February 2023 to ensure that the right attendees attend.

(b)This amount is historical debt, there is no current amount outstanding, SAPO is up to date with Medipos payments.

SA Post Office has continued to manage its expenses prudently resulting in the loss position not worsening. I have been advised by SABC as follows:

i) The News Channel has been running since 2019 and no additional budget will be required as the activities will be accommodated within current resources. ii) Yes, the channel is expected to attract income through advertising and partnerships.

iii) No funding is required.
