Formerly: National Assembly
A former Secretary-General of the Independent Democrats, Mr Hoosen hails from Durban. He served as a Councillor on the Durban Metro Council from 1996 to 2001. In September 2005, Mr Hoosen joined the Independent Democrats and was soon after appointed as the IDs' Election Campaign Manager in March 2006. After becoming a member of the Independent Democrat's National Executive Committee, Mr Hoosen was elected as the Independent Democrat's Secretary General in 2007. He was elected to National Parliament in 2008 representing the Democratic Alliance. He served as the DA Shadow Minister for Home Affairs in the Fifth Parliament (2014 - 2019).
