Dear Standing Committee on Finance, I write to you from the Financial Intermediaries Association of Southern Africa (FIA). We are a trade association representing the intermediary segment of the financial services market.

We have previously made submissions on the above-mentioned Bill, and specifically requested that we be provided with an opportunity to present our position on the Bill during the public hearings. In spite of regularly reviewing the schedule, we did not see any such hearing scheduled; however, on the update received for this week we note the following scheduled for 11 May 2022:

Standing Committee on Finance, (National Assembly), [Response by National Treasury to the submissions received during the public hearings on the Financial Sector and Deposit Insurance Levies Bill [B3 – 2022] and the Financial Sector and Deposit Insurance Levies (Administration) and Deposit Insurance Premiums Bill [B4 – 2022]], Virtual Meeting Platform, 09:00-12:00

We urgently request feedback on when these public hearings took place, as we had specifically wished to present our position, and had not received notice of any hearings.

Please advise as to whether or not it would be possible for us to attend this session tomorrow, and if so, please provide the relevant link to attend.
