Dear Portfolio Committee on Justice and Correctional Services,

I have a problem with a DCS, particularly; Kgosi Mampuru Region (Pretoria Central). I have a brother there who is serving 20 years imprisonment with effect from June 2013 and next year is eligible for Parole. He had undergone all the prescribed programmes required by DCS including the VOD in particular which he did it early in 2014, the problem is that; the DCS failed to safe-keep the records of the VOD sitting including the payment that were also made in 2016 (which were conducted by the Chaplain). All efforts were made by the inmate in seeking remedies to this matter, which includes inter alia; contacting the VOD officials, the unit Manager, the Social Worker, the Head of the Centre and the CMC office but all efforts were unsuccessfully.

The question is that; is it fair for Department's negligence to cost the inmate's freedom of movement and to life?
With respect please help my brother if you can to ease him from the chain of the ideological oppressors
