The Week Ahead: President’s final appearance in the National Assembly

Even with a public holiday to compress the parliamentary week, a fair bit of action is packed into the programme.

The main event in the NA chamber—scheduled for Tuesday—is the President’s Question Time session. This is his final engagement with NA lawmakers for the Sixth Parliament.

The questions cover an array of issues, including the Presidential Employment Stimulus programme, lifestyle audits for all public representatives and job creation. View here

On the same day, legislators will debate Human Rights Day.

Select Ministers in the Economics cluster will respond to oral questions on Wednesday.

Elsewhere, the NCOP chamber will only sit on Tuesday. The plenary agenda includes considering 2 bills, the National Council on Gender-based Violence Bill and the Expropriation Bill, as well as assorted committee reports.
