Chairperson, I move without notice:
That the Council -
1) notes that last Sunday, 24 October, was United Nations Day - a day which marked the 65th anniversary of the entry into force of the United Nations Charter in 1945;
2) further notes that the United Nations was established after World War II in order to maintain international peace and promote co- operation in solving international economic, social and humanitarian problems;
3) acknowledges that the United Nations has made profound progress in facilitating co-operation in international law, international security, economic development, social progress, human rights and achievement of world peace; and 4) takes this opportunity to extend and reaffirm its profound support for this great organisation that has become the founding father of global humankind and the voice of marginalised communities and individuals across the globe.
