[Mr T E CHAANE: I move without notice:
That the Council -
(1) notes with great shock the assault and murder of a man who was even clutching his Bible on a Sunday after his murderer told his friends when they were drinking at a tavern at Hartebeespoortdam, in the North West, that he was going to kill a black person;
(2) is gravely concerned about these attacks and murders which seem to be racially motivated, especially at a time when most South Africans are deepening our democracy which is growing well with the purpose of improving the lives of all our people; and
(3) would also like to take this opportunity to pour scorn on these brutal attacks and racially motivated killings, which are barbaric.]
Motion agreed to in accordance with section 65 of the Constitution.
