Deputy Speaker, I fully agree with hon member Skosana's statement, and I urge this House to do more and make sure that we deal with green energy. We must also encourage the Basa Njengo Magogo campaign when we go to or constituencies to encourage the people to do so.
This was also a commitment made by the ANC-led government and by the President when he attended the Copenhagen and Cancun conferences. The COP 17 conference will later be hosted in South Africa, in November and December. We are serious about renewable energy and we are doing everything we can as a country to make sure that this works. Surely this is all from the ANC-led government.
With regard to the local government complaints that I've heard from many members, clearly we have all come out of the local government elections and we all know the results. Let's work on the next election. Let us start now and make sure that we work better. It does not help to come here and explain that more voters voted for the ANC - overwhelmingly so - and there are a few places where some of the opposition got seats. Let us try to work together to get a better South Africa. The ANC has been given a mandate to run most of the municipalities. We believe that we have a good manifesto to do so. Thank you. [Applause.]
