Hon Chairperson, on behalf of the DA I wish to move without notice:
That the Council -
1) notes that Koukamma Municipality received R5 million from Cacadu District Municipality to "implement the neighbourhood revitalisation programme at Storms River West village";
2) further notes that the newly elected Mayor of Koukamma Municipality, Samuel Vuso, and John Busakwe own a company called Sinaw Amandla Construction, which was awarded a R100 000 project as part of the revitalisation programme to clean the graveyard;
3) acknowledges that the municipal manager Sabelo Nkuhlu signed off for payment on a job not completed and Sinaw Amandla was paid R100 080 on 11 May - a mere seven days before the elections; and
4) requests the Select Committee on Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs to investigate this case, as well as the progress made by the Koukamma Municipality since the administration period was terminated in January 2011 as it seems that the corruption has not been eradicated in this municipality.
[Interjections.]
Hon members, order! [Interjections.] Of course, including myself! I am a member of this House, and that order also applies to me. I would not justify that. I was out of order. Thank you very much, hon member.
Is there any objection to the motion? There is. In the light of the objection, the motion may not be proceeded with. The motion without notice therefore becomes a notice of motion.
