Chairperson, I hereby move without notice:
That the Council -
1) notes that the IFP was dealt another major blow on Monday when Sanelisiwe Mncwango, the wife of its national organiser Albert Mncwango, abandoned the organisation to join the fledgling National Freedom Party;
2) further notes that a few weeks ago Albert Mncwango vehemently denied rumours that his wife, who is a former deputy national chairperson of the IFP Women's Brigade and currently works as director of community services at Nongoma Local Municipality, would join the NFP; and
3) acknowledges that the leaving of the wife of its national organiser and many of its members and leaders, who have since joined the ANC, marks the beginning of the end of the IFP.
Motion agreed to in accordance with section 65 of the Constitution.
