Speaker, I move without notice:
That the House -
1) notes that on 27 April 2011, President Jacob Zuma bestowed the National Order of Mendi for Bravery, the Order of Ikhamanga, the Order of the Baobab, the Order of Luthuli, the Order of Mapungubwe and the Order of the Companions of O R Tambo upon citizens and members of the international community for their outstanding contributions in their respective fields on improving the lives of the people of South Africa;
2) further notes that Mr Nelson Diale (75), ANC Member of Parliament, was awarded the Order of Luthuli in Silver for his excellent contribution to the struggle against apartheid and for his selfless sacrifice to fight for freedom and equality for the people of South Africa;
3) recognises that the Order of Luthuli is awarded to South Africans who have made a meaningful contribution to the struggle for democracy, human rights, nation-building, justice, peace and conflict resolution and that it is named after the late Chief Albert Luthuli, who is widely regarded for his vision to see African people participate fully in the socioeconomic and political development of South Africa; and
4) congratulates Mr Diale on receiving this prestigious award, and all other recipients of these prestigious awards.
