Mr Chairman, I move without notice:
That the House -
1) notes that 20 October 2011 was National Down's Syndrome Day;
2) further notes that one in 650 children are born with Down's Syndrome each year;
3) acknowledges that individuals living with Down's Syndrome are still discriminated against and that many myths with respect to the largest single cause of intellectual disability still exists; and
4) urges South African citizens to raise awareness in order to dispel the myths and promote the abilities of people with Down's Syndrome.
