Hon Speaker, I move without notice:
That the House -
(1) notes that the Twelve Apostles Church in Christ held its Annual Thanksgiving Assembly in KwaZulu-Natal on 11 and 12 August 2012;
(2) further notes that other thanksgiving assemblies took place in North West and Mpumalanga provinces, and some neighbouring countries;
(3) acknowledges that the Thanksgiving Assembly brought together people of all age groups and genders to engage in a wide variety of activities, including prayer, music, games and biblical messages which are important in fostering unity and inclusivity;
(4) further acknowledges that the Assembly resonates with the President's call for nation-building and social cohesion and sets an example of how we can build our communities and preserve morality;
(5) recognises that the church plays a critical role in moral regeneration of the youth by involving thousands of young people in cultural and religious activities which keep them focused in positive thinking;
(6) further recognises that true to the Motto of the City, the City of Heritage, assemblies like this contribute to the preservation of our heritage and help to pass such to the youth;
(7) appreciates the support given to the Twelve Apostles Church in Christ by the mayor of Ulundi Local Municipality, Councillor N J Manana and her entire council and in particular uMntwana wakwaPhindangene, President of the Inkathatha Freedom Party (IFP), who donated the cows for the function; and
(8) congratulates the Twelve Apostles Church in Christ for its contribution to the regeneration of morality in our country.
