Deputy Speaker, the ANC welcomes the newly built fire station at Tsakane, which is staffed with two fire engines and two ambulances. The station will also serve areas like Kwathema, Duduza, and other surrounding areas.
The residents of Tsakane had difficulty accessing these services prior to the completion of the new fire station, and used to access such services from Kempton Park. However, the completion of a fully-fledged fire station has reduced the response time to attend to fire and other disaster incidences have been which plaguing the community in Tsakane.
This initiative is an indication that the ANC is committed to ensuring that local government understands the fundamentals of serving communities, and that it is able to address the challenges facing them more effectively and efficiently. I thank you. [Applause.]
