Hon Speaker, I move without notice:
That the House -
(1) notes that the POP International Galleries kicked off the celebration of Black History Month on 13 February 2013 in New York, with an exhibition titled MADIBA - Images of Nelson Mandela featuring the work of famed South African photo journalist, Benny Gool;
(2) further notes that Benny Gool was honoured with the opportunity to chronicle the life of our founding father, Nelson Mandela, in public and in private over three decades;
(3) recognises that Benny Gool's images of Madiba come together to narrate the remarkable journey of our beloved former President and icon, from incarceration to freedom and to the founding of a new nation;
(4) further recognises the importance of such exhibitions both at home and abroad to remind ourselves of the sacrifices made and the true value of the freedom we enjoy; and
(5) congratulates Benny Gool on having his work exhibited and extends its gratitude for his contribution in keeping the memories of Madiba alive, both at home and abroad.
Agreed to.
