Hon Speaker, I move without notice:
That the House -
1) notes that the anonymous crime tip-off service Crime Line has been awarded two media awards at the 34th Annual Crime Stoppers International Conference in Barbados during the first week of October; 2) further notes that the organisation, Crime Stoppers Southern Africa, that consists of Crime Line and other crime stop programmes, won the bid to host the 2014 conference on the African continent for the first time;
3) recognises that preparations are already under way to host the prestigious Crime Stoppers International Conference in Cape Town next year;
4) acknowledges that the conference provides South Africa with an opportunity to bring crime fighters from around the world to our shores to share ideas and to study the latest trends in global crimes;
5) further acknowledges the important role that Crime Line has played in empowering ordinary South Africans to help reduce terribly high levels of crime in our beloved country; and
6) congratulates Crime Line on their success and wishes them well as they continue their battle to make South Africa a safer place for all who live in it.
Agreed to.
