Deputy Speaker, I rise on behalf of the EFF to move without notice:
That the House -
1) notes that the EFF's Members of Parliament visited the University of Limpopo's Turfloop Campus over the last weekend and heard of real victories the EFF-led Student Representative Council, SRC, had scored for the student community, in particular the poor and academically deserving students;
2) further notes that the EFF SRC managed to ensure that examination results were released to all students owing up to R25 000 as of 17 December 2014, which has never happened before;
3) also notes that they managed to ensure free registration for all final year students owing up to R8 500 on the first week of registration, which has never happened before;
4) notes that students with or without National Student Financial Aid Scheme, NSFAS, assistance were registered for free without making any upfront payments;
5) further notes that they ensured that there's provision of a free meal a day to needy students, which, yet again, has never happened before;
6) also notes that they fought for the registration of 18 540 students by 13 February this year, which, again, has never happened before;
7) congratulates the EFF SRC and salutes them for continued dedication to student service and interests; and
8) notes that this reflects the rising tide of an economic emancipation movement in building student power for economic freedom.
I put the motion.
Deputy Speaker, the ANC objects. [Laughter.]
There is an objection; the motion falls away.
