understand that businesses have to make a profit in order to survive. Continual losses through unsustainable overheads mean the eventual demise of the employer. It appears that our hon Minister needs a course in economics 101. It is very well to say that people need to earn more if the business is making a loss. Every state-owned enterprise has not been able to internalise that fact and they need an income to be able to expend to the expenditure. If an employee does not produce enough to justify his or her salary, and the price of labour outpaces the value of goods, then something is bound to go wrong.
