Ms Lesoma was born in Kwa-Zulu Natal. She attended school in Umlazi, and she received an introduction to politics through her membership of the Congress of South African Students (COSAS). She was elected to a full term in the National Assembly in 2014 and re-elected in 2019. Ms Lesoma currently serves on the Joint Committee on Ethics and Members' Interests and the Joint Standing Committee on the Financial Management of Parliament Committee.
